The 9.2-acre Ranch Camp, located in the idyllic setting of the Village of Rienda in Rancho Mission Viejo, is a collection of uniquely exciting recreational amenities inspired by ranch life. Ranch Camp was designed as a place for residents to connect and play surrounded by the beauty of this rural landscape. Ranch Camp’s outstanding recreational offerings include: Ranch Cove, a 20,000 sf lagoon-style pool at the centerpiece, The Workout, an open air pavilion with fitness center and lap pool, Event Barn, an open air venue for parties and line-dancing, Event Lawn & Picnic Area featuring BBQs, firepits and tables, Heritage House & Pasture, Discovery House (visitor center), The Nature House, Trailhead & Parking Areas. Ranch Camp included survey staking; conceptual engineering and site development plans; grading, sewer, domestic water, drainage and storm drain plans; underground fire and composite utility plans; cut/fill exhibit and as-builts; and SDG&E and SMWD Easements. The project incorporated a water quality rain garden near the horse pasture as well as an LID treatment train consisting of a continuous deflection separator (CDS) to treat the water. Precise design was required due to intricate piping beneath the lagoon-style pool. Complex coordination was required due to multiple stakeholders and their respective deadlines.
