TRANSPORTATION & DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE (T&DI)

The ASCE Orange County (OC) Branch Transportation and Development Institute (T&DI) Chapter was established in September 2016. The current OC T&DI evolved from OC Transportation Technical Group (TTG) with the addition of land development. OC T&DI’s missions are to:

• Advance the OC transportation and land development communities in the direction that is in line with the ASCE T&DI National’s objective.

• Provide members with opportunities to share their knowledge and expertise in transportation engineering and land development that is relevant in the OC area.

OC T&DI aims to accomplish the missions through:

• Technical lectures, specialty seminars, and technical tours: Attendees who attend technical lectures and seminars are eligible to receive accredited Professional Development Hours (PDHs) applied towards the Continuing Education Program of the P.E. licensing renewal often required for professional registration in states outside California. Periodically, OC T&DI holds joint events with the OC Branch during branch general meetings. The OC Branch and the OC T&DI work together to provide continuing education events that are relevant to T&DI members.

• Networking events and industry presentations allow members to interact with other professionals and agencies in the transportation and land development fields of civil engineering.

• OC T&DI regularly sends active OC branch members to T&DI Conference that is held on an annual basis across the country. When the attendee learns new ideas and finds interesting topics, he or she can share and present to our local Branch members.
